The Arc of Washington County

Self Advocacy is encouraging and empowering people to use their voice. Meetings are led by Self Advocate leaders and include:

  • Training others on rights and responsibilities
  • Educating the broader community
  • Participating in group decision making
  • Involvement on boards and task forces with policymakers
  • Developing storytelling skills

Meetings occur the 4th Thursday of every month from 5:00- 6:30 PM at the Canonsburg location.

The Arc of Washington County is an affiliated chapter of the Arc of Pennsylvania and the Arc of the United States. Its mission promotes the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetime.
