When I arrive at the doctor's office, I will check in at the desk.
I will sit in the waiting room until my name is called.
A nurse will call my name when it’s my turn.
The person who helps me will tell me what the MRI will be like. I can ask questions, or my support person can.
I will need to change into a gown or pajamas. The nurse will leave the room.
I will see the MRI machine. It looks like a big tunnel.
I will lie down on a table. If I’m cold, I can ask for a blanket.
The table will move slowly into the tunnel. I need to stay still.
The machine makes loud noises like thumps, knocks, or beeps.
I can wear headphones or listen to music to make the noise quieter.
The person can talk to me through the headphones. I can ask for a break at any time.
The MRI might take 15 minutes to an hour. After that, I will be all done!
