Teresa is in her early 20s and looking forward to blogging about her journey with newly diagnosed autism. Within the past few years, she’s had to rebuild her entire life from scratch and navigate everything very differently. She recently had the opportunity to job shadow at different locations and has been inspired to attend college and one day work with children. Teresa is eager for this new chapter in her life and wants to inspire others with autism to never give up, despite whatever obstacles life may throw their way.

In this blog, I wanted to talk about a celebrity who means a lot to me, and that is Liam Payne from One Direction. I was a huge fan of One Direction when I was younger. I had all their CDs, posters on my wall, merchandise, and I even got to see them in concert. Even after they split up as a band, I supported all the members as solo artists.
I never had a favorite member; I loved all of them the same. However, Liam was always someone I looked up to, as he was always so open about his mental health struggles. As someone who can relate to that, it meant a lot to me to have a famous person that I looked up to be so candid about that.
When I heard the news about Liam unfortunately passing away exactly two years ago, on October 16, 2024, I was devastated as both a One Direction fan and as someone who looked up to Liam.
Looking back on his music and his open vulnerability, I’m reminded of how much impact a person can have on our lives, even from afar. The memories from those years, listening to the albums, going to the concert, and following along on the journey will always hold a special place in my heart.
In closing, Liam was a huge part of my life growing up, and his music and honesty meant so much to me. I will always cherish those memories and hold a special place for him in my heart.
