Opening Up About Job Stress

Posted on

Welcome back to my blog! Today, I want to talk about some of the struggles I’ve been experiencing, specifically with looking for jobs.

I tend to get stressed out easily if I have a job that’s too fast-paced or if I have to interact with a lot of people. And since I haven’t had a lot of jobs, I find it hard for me to find a job I think l might be comfortable with because I don’t have a lot of experience. Then, I end up picking a job that I think will be easy for me to do, and once I start it, I start to doubt myself.

Because of this, I ended up causing myself too much stress, and I left my job. However, there were other jobs I left previously due to an increase in my seizures or other health-related issues.

When I decided to start looking for jobs again, I had a hard time. I would apply to different places and either not hear back or I would get an email saying they were considering other candidates, which made me feel discouraged when looking for jobs.

The reason why I wanted to share all of this is that if there is anyone reading this who might be experiencing something similar, I want them to know they’re not alone. Remember, just because you’re feeling stressed or overwhelmed at your job doesn’t mean you’re failing; it’s okay to ask for help.

In closing, I leave you with this: never, ever give up. I hope you enjoyed this blog, and I’ll see you in the next one!

Teresa is eager for this new chapter in her life and wants to inspire others with autism to never give up, despite whatever obstacles life may throw their way.
