Teresa is in her early 20s and looking forward to blogging about her journey with newly diagnosed autism. Within the past few years, she’s had to rebuild her entire life from scratch and navigate everything very differently. She recently had the opportunity to job shadow at different locations and has been inspired to attend college and one day work with children. Teresa is eager for this new chapter in her life and wants to inspire others with autism to never give up, despite whatever obstacles life may throw their way.

Welcome back! Now that it is officially the new year, this is the time when people start to set goals for themselves for the new year ahead. In this blog, I will share some of mine and what I learned from 2024.
In 2024, a lot happened for me—a lot of good, a lot of change, and I learned a lot about myself. I spent most of 2024 learning the skills to live independently, but I also learned a lot of life lessons.
Last year, I got to step out of my comfort zone and share my story at a community event where I live. It was an experience that I’m glad that I got to participate in. Over time, I learned to set boundaries and became more comfortable in my own skin and just be myself. From the beginning of 2024 to the end, I made a lot of improvements to myself. I’m very grateful for every experience I’ve had in 2024.
As for 2025, I’m very excited for what’s to come. I’m looking forward to continuing my journey to independence and to any other opportunities that may come my way. This year, I will continue to improve myself, learn new things, spend time with the people I love, and advocate for myself and others.
I’d like to remind anyone who’s reading that it’s not too late to start over. Every day is a new chance to start again. As always, I hope you enjoyed this blog. See you in the next one!
