I was diagnosed at a young age and went through the special education system in public schools. Family is incredibly important to me as I grew up in a large supportive family. I enjoy being outside in nature and arts and crafts.

I had never seen an eclipse. I went to Ohio with a group of people as we found a state park to spend the day at. We patiently waited for the “star” of the event, when the moon for a brief period, completely hides the sun for a few minutes in certain parts of the United States. I thought for sure that there would be lots of people at the park. I was pleasantly surprised that only a few more people than normal were at the state park.
We looked for the best place to view the eclipse and it was at the edge of the lake. We hung out talked, read books, and went to the nature center. I was able to ask for a few small free items like stickers and coins to commemorate the eclipse. We looked up when and where the next few events like this would happen. Based on what we found out, this may be my first and last time I see something like this.
As it got closer to the time we were waiting for, we rushed to make sure everything was ready for this once in a lifetime event. We almost forgot that we had special glasses as well as filters for the cameras to keep the sun from hurting our eyes and breaking the cameras.
The light around us changed and seemed thinner and watery looking. It became colder, dimmer and finally dark. It looked like night had fallen. We had been looking at the sun with our special glasses during most of the show. It was incredible to enjoy this natural phenomenon as this was not something specially designed by Hollywood or a theme park. I sat in silent awe while some others voiced their awe aloud.
The total eclipse only lasted a few minutes but it was amazing while it lasted. I’m so glad that I got to see this once in a lifetime event in the United States, somewhat close to my home state of Pennsylvania. It has increased my interest in learning more about the natural world. While most everyone else rushed to leave the park, we relaxed in the beautiful setting, talking about what we had just witnessed together. It was a great day and everyone had a good time.
I hope you get to experience something that causes you to feel awe and amazement as well. I’m hoping that my readers get the chance to try something new that creates a last memory for you. As always, best wishes in your future endeavors to all my readers.
