Honoring My Mom

Posted on

Welcome back! August is an important month for me because it is the month my mother was born. My mom was born on August 4th and this year she would’ve been 58 years old. So, to honor that, this blog is dedicated to her.

It has been two years since my mother passed away, and yet, there hasn’t been a day where I haven’t thought about her. I still think about her laugh and her smile and how she liked to help those around her.

While my relationship with my mom wasn’t perfect, there was still plenty of good times and those are the moments I like to hold onto. Moments like our mother/daughter days and watching her favorite Hallmark and Lifetime movies together.

My mom will always hold a special place in my heart. And as the years go by, I will always remember my mom as the woman who was an amazing cook, loved to craft, enjoyed helping others, and loved her family.

In closing, it took a while for me to heal after my mother’s passing. If you are struggling with grief, grief therapy can help you cope and heal. It was definitely very helpful me after losing my mom. As always, thank you for reading and I will catch you in the next blog!

Within the past few years, she’s had to rebuild her entire life from scratch and navigate everything very differently. She recently had the opportunity to job shadow at different locations and has been inspired to attend college and one day work with children. Teresa is eager for this new chapter in her life and wants to inspire others with autism to never give up, despite whatever obstacles life may throw their way.
