Coronavirus (COVID-19) Health and Safety Guide
ASERT has put together some resources for those with autism and those who care for people with autism relating to the current Coronavirus outbreak.
This is a website that was developed by the PA Dept. of Transportation and is being piloted currently. Its purpose is to help individuals plan for their transportation needs in an easier, more user friendly way.
The information you provide about yourself and your trip (e.g. your age or if you have a disability), will show you the types of transportation available (such as bus, taxi, shared ride, etc), the costs of each option, and when you will arrive with each option. If you create an account, it will save your information and trip plans. With your created account you can add “users” who can plan trips for you as well. An example used was doctors can schedule trips for you based on your doctor’s appointment. Another example used was Supports Coordinators can coordinate trips for individuals they work with.
It is currently available in Adams, Cambria, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lebanon and York counties. There are plans to expand to Blair, Carbon, Columbia, Lehigh, Monroe, Montour, Northampton, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder and Union counties.
This program works on all devices (such as cell phones and tablets) and there will be kiosks available throughout each participating county, as well.
