Central PA HCQU: Virus/Bacterial Infection Education

Hosted by the Central PA Healthcare Quality Unit. 

Join the Health Care Quality Unit (HCQU) and Debra Erdman, RN MSN CCRN TCRN, Geisinger Outreach/Injury Prevention Coordinator, Trauma Education resource Nurse for a virtual instructor lead training on Virus/Bacterial Infection Education.

The targeted audience will be caregivers and support staff who support adult individuals with Intellectual Disabilities/Autism living in community settings.

Anyone with an interest may join. Registration is not required. Attend as a group or individually. Participants must complete entire session for certificate of attendance.

Training Objectives:

  • Discuss difference between viral vs bacterial infections
  • Review when to go to seek professional medical care
  • Learn about treatment and prevention

The Central PA Healthcare Quality Unit (HCQU) provides healthcare management services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities across 13 counties in central Pennsylvania. They provide free health-related trainings and focus on improving individual outcomes, enhancing physical and behavioral health, and creating an organized system of care, to help caregivers better assist people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
