PUBLIQuartet: What is American?

Presented by Endicott College DEI Task Force and the School of Visual and Performing Arts DEI Liaison Group

About this Event

What is American?” The PUBLIQuartet string quartet thoughtfully ponders this question through a musical kaleidoscope of composers and diverse genres that make up America’s rich musical history. The concert features their reimagination of Dvorak’s “American” Quartet, in which the composer’s original melodies meet PQ’s blues, jazz and rock-inflected improvisations, connecting the dots to honor the past, present, and future of American music. Through creative and interactive programming, as well as a deep commitment to audience inclusion, the Grammy-nominated PUBLIQuartet injects fresh perspective into the Classical music scene. Devoted to presenting under-represented composers and combining genres, Curtis Stewart and Jannina Norpoth, violins, Nick Revel, viola, and Amanda Gookin, cello, contribute to a collective background in classical, jazz, world and electro-acoustic performance.
