Carnegie Science Center: Miniature Railroad and Village Sensory Friendly Tours

Hosted by the Carnegie Science Center

Join expert Miniature Railroad educators on a special behind-the-scenes tour through one of the most popular exhibits! These tours are designed for children, teenagers, young adults, and adults who are neurodivergent or disabled, and their families. All tours occur outside of regular museum hours.

Designed for visitors with sensory sensitivities and/or other disabilities, these tours are personalized and are free of crowds and loud noises. Each tour date has a very limited number of spots available to maintain a relaxed, welcoming, low-stimuli environment. On the tours, guests will have a chance to ask questions one-on-one of our Miniature Railroad staff and learn some of the fascinating facts and history of our Miniature Railroad and Village!

Cost: $10 per person. Tickets for this opportunity are $10 per person, regardless of age or museum membership status, and require advance reservations for all members of your party. This is an all-ages appropriate event. General admission to the museum is not included but can be purchased separately for the tours that occur before the museum opens.

Carnegie Science Center inspires and entertains by connecting science and technology with everyday life. In addition to providing valuable scientific experiences, Carnegie Science Center engages in outreach programs that serve Pittsburgh’s diverse community.
